WARNING: This video contains major Baldur's Gate 3 spoilers. Those spoilers are for Act 2, Ketheric Thorm's backstory, Shadowheart's backstory ( *in detail* ), Astarion's backstory (briefly), several NPCs' backstories, and several core story points. If you don't want some big spoilers, then don't watch it.

In the vid, I explain how the Shadow-Curse is set up story-wise, details of what happened in the land it covers, how the side story can conclude in its happiest ending, things I noticed along the way, and why I like the tale despite its flaws.

I don't go over technical, gameplay details — such as how the curse drains HP via rapidly increasing necrotic damage. _This is a story-based review only_

I also tried to include evidence for every point made with clips, screenshots, and info from in-game books, notes, and scrolls — as well as noting where I found what written info.

A few details were not gleaned by me in my own playthrough, because those details are only revealed on certain paths. Those excerpted bits were learned by watching others' videos. For additional context, see their full videos:

( _Some lines were relevant and excerpted, but this is also a good watch in general since it shows a different, darker path, and underlines how warped he's truly become_ )

đŸ‘« How to see the portrait of Ketheric and his wife = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2BLnEUsJvM

⬛ What happens if Shadowheart achieves her early-game goal = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ViklsLMPAI
( _I excerpted screenshots, but the full scene is darkly interesting_ )

đŸŽ€ I also used the audio from this to let Ketheric tell his story succinctly at points, because he only has that dialogue on a specific path that I didn't take = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOqD3uATwSc

I didn't want to put spoilers in my review of the game, but did want to discuss how I often liked BG3's subplots. How they're imperfect, often ending in rushed ways, yet are still good, tantalizing journeys in their own right. That's a complex topic, which I thought deserved complex coverage. So, to avoid spoilers, this was made separately from my review, but will be linked to in my review for those who like spoilers.

00:00 = The Shadow-Cursed Lands
2:33 = A Small Haven
8:02 = Once Upon a Time...
13:03 = That Tragic Night
16:34 = The Lady of Loss
22:48 = A Dark, Infernal Ending
25:15 = Lord of Bones
31:42 = The Lovers' Future
35:12 = My Thoughts

And if you're still reading this, here's something funny which somebody else found. I'm not the only one who went đŸ€” at Isobel's hiding plan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwf9fZTss8w
