Budget Cuts Ultimate - Game Review
Hey there, fellow gamers! Welcome back to our channel, "Veteran Game." Today we're diving headfirst into the realm of virtual reality with a stealth action adventure title from indie developer Neat Corporation, Budget Cuts Ultimate. Picture this: You're the last human worker in a factory called TransCorp that's gone full autopilot by replacing employees with robots. You receive a cryptic briefcase from an outsider, and it becomes your mission to unravel the factory's peculiar happenings, save humanity, and escape unscathed.
As you traverse through various locations within TransCorp's facility in a campaign that lasts around five hours, you'll encounter settings from regular administrative offices to bustling production lines. The teleportation gun is your main tool, allowing you to weave around pursuers by shifting through small vents and hidden passages within the walls. Teleporting, sneaking, and subduing evil security drones and robots become part of your routine as you navigate through restricted areas. Trust me, physically crouching and evading a room full of livid robots can get your heart racing.
Throughout your journey, you'll have to rummage through cupboards and drawers to find access keys for progression or objects to defend yourself. From knives and scissors to mugs and stationery, if you can find it, you can use it as a weapon.
During my playthrough, I have to say, I ran into a few issues. Hand tracking, in particular, was a bit of a bother. There were instances where my right hand seemed to drift out of position or freeze altogether, unable to move or interact. Even trying to reset the position with the options button didn't quite resolve the issue. Restarting the application did offer temporary relief. Add to that some jagged visuals, which made reading text a bit difficult, and repetitive robot voice lines that took away from the immersion.
However, despite these flaws, Budget Cuts offers an exhilarating stealth gameplay experience. It'll test your agility as you dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge past relentless robotic adversaries. With a substantial campaign length, intriguing narrative, and headset haptics that add to the thrill, you'll definitely want to see this adventure through to the end. Yes, the hand tracking issue and less-than-optimal visuals can dampen the immersion a bit, but I would still recommend you to give Budget Cuts Ultimate a shot. Just remember, if you're up for a stealthy escapade and don't mind a bit of dodging and ducking, then this game just might be your cup of tea.
As always, thanks for tuning in. Let's keep the gaming conversation going in the comments section. Catch you in the next video, gamers!
