Yes, there's a yellow yard of difference between the shooters you grew up with - Gradius, R-Type, Radiant Silvergun - and the more frantic action of Ikaruga, the Touhou series, or Triggerheart Exelica. Crossing that gap takes time and effort... if only there was a game that acted like Danmaku-On-Training-Wheels! Why look, it's Redshift, an introduction to some of the concepts and mechanics of modern bullet-hell shooters without trying to break the player on the first go. Granted, outside of practice... it falls completely flat, devoid of plot or any significant replay value. That's when you pick up Vorpal.
