CiB Let's Try - Nightmare Creatures (PS1)
3Nightmare Creatures was released on the PS1 on September 30, 1997. It received versions on PC later in 1997, and a release on the N64 in November, 1998. Nightmare Creatures was developed by Kalisto Entertainment, who also worked on Pac In Time for SNES, and Nightmare Creatures II. It was published by Activision, back when they used to be cool.
As a big horror game fan, I have known about this one for quite some time. As both Trev and I mention in the video, we were both off regarding what type of game Nightmare Creatures is. I thought it would be a balls-to-the-wall action game with horror elements -- and it ends up being much more like a 3D adventure / one-on-one battler game than I ever imagined it would be.
This game still looks great to this day, so I cannot imagine how crisp it looked in 1997. The controls are solid, the gameplay and fighting are crisp for the time, and this is altogether a really nice package. As with all of these Let's Try videos, we don't have too much time to put into it, so we apologize if skipping to the final boss and doing it poorly offends any fans of the game -- we're on your side, trust us, this is a very solid title.
