Kia ora and welcome back to Humankind! Hot off the press, the Humankind developers have confirmed that they've removed Denuvo - an anti-piracy DRM online software tool that Humankind has used during the beta periods. Software and protections like Denuvo are used by developers to verify legitimate copies of the game - basically it uses the internet to check that you purchased the game (hence why it's anti-piracy, because it prohibits stolen or pirated free versions of Humankind from connecting with the servers, limiting people's ability to play the game in either single-player, multiplayer, or both).
