Let's Play Armello 40: Unforetold Consequences
Evade is a double edged sword. It allows both sword and shield dice to be put to defence, the focus on fleeing combat rather then killing your foe. It also moves you in a random direction upon escaping which can be a boon or a curse. Surviving in an undesirable square is however better then dying and I'll be the first to admit that I hadn't given evade enough credit until now.
But even so close to victory, can anyone stop Thane? Or more accurately, can we win without having to stop Thane? There's only one way to find out.
Overall, I've really enjoyed the new editions to Armello that have been added since I last played. The new heroes are fun, adding different strategies that make every match that much more different then before. The new items are interesting, filling holes that had previously been empty voids. The stranger is not seen often but adds a wild element to gameplay, creating more replayability. With a game like this replayability is key; creating that 'just one more game' mindset is difficult but I feel Armello is on the way to doing that. The matches are rather long which somewhat inhibits that pick up and play mentality. I can say however that I've played a lot of matches and likely will play more in future. If there'll be against the AI like these were or verses people I know is something for the future to determine.
For now I think it's time to bit Armello adieu, at least for the time being. I'm sure I'll return to the game in time but with one match for each new hero, I've shown some of the elements added with the new DLC. I've certainly enjoyed what it put into the game, hopefully these videos will have helped others who play decide if they want to get it themselves.
So what's next? I think it's time to return to a genre that I haven't played in a long time. It's also time to return to a game I haven't played for well well over a decade. Let's hope that my memory isn't too rusty as I delve into a game that's both full of memories for me, vivid and vague alike.
See you next let's play!
