The only thing between the party and stopping the Vessel, are the two remaining Mutant Apes, and Kato himself. It's time to end this.
Note: The final battle suffers from some major slowdowns. I did what I could to make it better but there wasn't much I could do. I was afraid this would happen when I saw how it slowed down a lot in the Fountain of Sakune.
I apologize if it annoys anyone, I spent all weekend trying to get it working correctly and this was the best I could get it.
There are a few more chests we can grab before we head into the final light elevator, one being the last crucifix you can find in the game. Once you got that make sure you save again.
I would highly suggest making two separate saves at this point. Once you enter the last elevator, Yuri is faced with a decision, and this decision effects the ending you will get when you finish the game. For this walkthrough I go for the good ending, so I choose the top option. If you want to see the bad ending, pick the bottom.
After that you'll have to face the remaining two Mutant Apes. I luck out in this boss battle and hit them with the tarot card that stops them from acting for two turns, which is all my party needs to take them both out. The strategy for these two are like any other boss in the game, and with Dark Seraphim it makes things a lot quicker since you can buff the party up with all the buffs at once. Grab the snapshot and you can also use Pillage Storm to snag some more ring add-on effects if you wish, then hit them hard with combos and they should go down.
After the battle go through the large gateway behind the apes and you will be at the final save point in the game. Make sure to use it, cause once you enter the next doorway you'll be fighting the final battle. Make sure your team is protected against status effects before heading through the last door, or at least your healers.
After a quick conversation between Yuri and Kato, you are greeted with the final battle. The final boss comes with 3 allies in the form of a sword, a mirror, and a gem. The sword deals some heavy physical damage, the mirror will buff them all and remove your party's buffs, the gem can heal, all while the boss will be hitting your team with status effects. The boss also has a chance of calling all of them to himself and doing a combo for some massive damage, so if you see him combine with them, heal up as best you can before he unleashes his attacks.
I would suggest taking out the allies in this order: Gem, Mirror, then Sword. The gem first so it won't heal, then the mirror so you can keep your buffs, then finally take out the sword and set up your combos for the boss.
Keep an eye on your health, magic, and SP through this fight and you shouldn't have too much of a problem. Heal the status effects as soon as one of your team is inflicted with them, and hit the boss with everything you've got. It's the final battle so don't be conservative with your items, you're in this to win.
After the boss goes down, sit back and enjoy the ending. Congratulations on completing the game. After the credits you'll be given a chance to save your clear data, which you can load as a new game plus. You'll keep almost everything except for key items and such.
This brings a close to my Shadow Hearts: Covenant walkthrough. There's one more game in the Shadow Hearts series that I'll be playing through soon; From the New World.
I do hope you enjoyed the walkthrough as much as I enjoyed recording it. I do thank you for putting up with the slowdowns I experienced in the game, and also my average at best skills.
As always if you enjoy a walkthrough without commentary and no cuts of the game, and/or find my videos helpful feel free to subscribe to the channel, I'll be doing walkthroughs for games as long as I have games to record.
See you in the next game!
