Man, they've knocked it out of the park with this remaster. A cohesive graphics overhaul (the RTX port was shiny and high res but everything looked inconsistent). In this new port, many areas have been tweaked here to look consistently great with the new lighting and the muzzle flashes are finally perfect after all these years (always hated how that was in Quake 2).
