Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 playthrough (Neo Geo, 1CC)
Playthrough with Terry. The final Real Bout game was released in 1998. It had a very short development period, according to this article: http://tinyurl.com/yacuoluw
The game was made in just four months! This probably explains why there are only two new characters, although all of the backgrounds are new. As you'd expect, all of the returning characters have new animations and moves. This game also marks the return of single plane stages, which were last seen all the way back in Fatal Fury Special. Basically, on certain stages, if you manage to hit the opponent into the other plane, they'll hit and bounce off an object and take a little extra damage.
The CPU has been made more difficult than the previous game, and I've always felt that the controls are also stiffer than before. The lack of stage hazards is also disapointing -the first Real Bout game had ring outs, Real Bout Special had objects you could smash the opponent through at either end of the stage, but this has nothing like that at all. But over the years this game has developed a strong fanbase, with it being only second to Mark of the Wolves in terms of being the most popular game in the series.
I also fight Alfred at the end. To get him to appear, you need to play through the game without losing any rounds and connecting with either 7 S power moves or 5 P power moves. A lot of cheat sites say you need to finish the opponent with these moves, but that's not the case. You just need to hit the opponent with them.
