Have you ever wondered what the character and monsters stats were before retail? Well now you can try it out for yourself.

Through the Severed Chains (SC) modding API (by lead developer of SC, Monoxide, that was created on devstreams @ https://www.youtube.com/@legend-of-dragoon) we can now have basic modding events. The end result is the CSV Stat Changer Mod that I have packaged data and transformed into CSVs. I have the data from the Japan retail version of the game as well as the Japan demo prepackaged in the mod. The demo from the NA is fairly similar to the final retail copy so I have not included it.

What is SC? It is a decompilation project written in Java, therefore it can be run on multiple systems. You must provide your own copy of Legend of Dragoon.

You can download the CSV Stat Changer mod here. Just extract it the folder to the root (base) directory of Severed Chains (the one with the JAR file).

The demo stats in the video are the ones sliding in/out. Please note there are two features not implemented that affect gameplay currently.
1) Since Severed Chains uses the NA copy as a base for decompiling the game items magic will hit much harder than intended.
2) It is unknown if the attack percentages of monsters was changed between retail and the demo. If an enemy uses an attack that comes from the spell table they will be correct.

Basic Severed Chains Installation
Extract your Windows/Mac/Linux.zip downloaded from the github link above to any locations.
Take your Legend of Dragoon ISOs and put them in the SeveredChains\isos folder.
Rename the ISOs based on the Disc. Example: "Lod Disc 3.bin" will become "3.iso"
Click the "launch.bat" for Windows or execute "launch" in terminal from SeveredChains folder for MacOS and Linux based systems.
Severed Chains needs Java 17 installed to run and OpenGL 3.3 (should already have this).

P.S. Yes the higher damage on Mantis in the demo is correct, the demo has higher HP values in exchange for much lower defenses in most cases.
