Want to the Yakuza game franchise before it got weird? Then check out this Cheapness affordable gaming review of Shenmue I & II [Episode 27]!

This review delves into this brawling/ gta-like, martial arts, detective game. It's an odd yet brilliant duck. Both games were included in the "1001 games you must play before you die" and their inclusion is fair... but as the review states, it is not for everyone. It's very immersive via mundane actions making up portions of the gameplay. At one point you actually replace a light bulb. You run about and talk a lot. The brawling gameplay almost feels like an afterthought. It's a unique delight and is more about exploring a small, quaint town in Japan and a sprawling section of Hong Kong during the 80s and getting closer to avenging your father through investigation. The game has decent value for money too.

Thank you for watching this review and I truly hope I turned you onto your next game whether through identifying its cheapness, quality or weirdness.
