59Following the events of Wounds of Eventide, a free DLC that provided the true ending to Blasphemous, the sequel resumes years later with the return of The Miracle. It's a force that both cruelly blesses and condemns the lives of Cvstodia, the place that makes up the game world. It has spawned a heart in the sky that will give birth a child--that'll herald a new age. Our mission to ensure it does not happen.
One of the goals in the development was to have it align better as a metroidvania--and developer The Game Kitchen has succeed. The entry is more accessible, has a better flow, all while retaining the series' identity and Souls inspired edge. It marks it a perfect entry for those new to franchise and veterans alike. Not only are the combat, music, and visuals satisfying, it's true of the experience. It's bound to be or or be placed among the best metroidvanias of 2023.
