The Thing 1982 Review / Discussion | John Carpenter's The Thing REVISITED | Sequel Talk & Theories
"The Thing" (1982) is a science fiction horror film directed by John Carpenter and serves as a remake of the 1951 film "The Thing from Another World." Set in the desolate and icy landscape of Antarctica, the story follows a group of American researchers who encounter an otherworldly and shape-shifting alien organism that can assimilate and mimic any living being it comes into contact with.
As paranoia and mistrust escalate among the researchers, they must work together to identify who among them might be the alien imposter. With no means of communication or escape, they are trapped in a relentless battle for survival, where the line between friend and foe becomes increasingly blurred.
"The Thing" is known for its chilling atmosphere, groundbreaking practical effects, and a sense of dread that permeates every scene. It explores themes of isolation, trust, and the fear of the unknown, making it a classic in the horror and science fiction genres.

About the Channel:
Hi,
I'm JT. A horror fanatic for almost 30 years. I do long, spoiler discussions/deep dives on films in all genres of horror. I have always loved overanalyzing films & pointing out silly observations, suspension of disbelief defying stupidity, making jokes, & just having as much fun as possible talking about anything horror related.
Also throw Watch Parties, Livestreams, Interviews with Horror Interviews, a Horror Podcast, Collabs with so many great horror channels and amazing people in the community, and more! Horror galore! Requests for films to discuss π
I also put out guitar covers (including horror film themes), and livestream gaming, mostly challenge runs of the Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring series.
