Wario Land 1 DX: Part 47: Course No.40 - Syrup Castle 4 (Final Boss & Perfect Ending)
Wario must now infiltrate the core of Syrup Castle to finally reach its Captain and Leader of the Brown Sugar Pirates.
The first section has you using Spring Blocks to make huge leaps across long pits. Grab a lot of coins along the way. Some are off the top of the screen!
In the indoors room, you must fight a Knight before you can progress. Hit it three times, but be prepared to dodge its spear dash after each one.
The next room is a quick ladder climb. Watch out for the statues that breathe fireballs.
The final room before the final boss has more enemies to deal with alongside some blades to stoop under.
----------
Then... at long last... Wario encounters the leader of the Brown Sugar Pirates: Captain Syrup, *HERSELF!!!*
Yes, the Captain's a woman! A woman with a magic lamp. She uses it to summon the actual final boss you must fight: A giant Genie!
Genie's main attack is to flick out fireballs that can travel along the ground. Occasionally, his lamp will summon Mini-Genies.
You damage Genie by jumping on his head, and he takes several more hits to be compared to other bosses. In order to help reach his head, you have to throw or knock his lamp around until it stands upright. This will let it release of cloud that Wario can stand on for a boost.
----------
Once the Genie is defeated Wario finally wins against Captain Syrup and her Brown Sugar Pirates!
But Syrup gets so sore and angry that she ends up pulling out a bomb to blow up her whole castle. Luckily, Wario escaped with her Magic Lamp in one piece, and the destruction of Syrup Castle left behind the biggest treasure of them all.
A giant golden statue of Princess Peach! WARIO TRULY HIT THE JACKPOT, THIS TIME!
But... this was short-lived, as the gigantic Peach statue was then taken away from him.
By who? By none other than MARIO! "WOO-HOO!"
Mario came in a helicopter and took the whole helicopter away. Likely taking it back to his own castle of which he had to take back from Wario in Super Mario Land 2! "BYE-BYE!"
----------
Welp... at least Wario still had his Magic Lamp from Syrup. So he decided to re-summon the Genie.
The Genie came out with a much friendlier face compared to when Captain Syrup summoned him. He shall grant Wario one wish, and Wario wants a castle!
However, as an extra catch of that wish, Wario must also pay the Genie enough Coins to make it happen.
MY CATCH, however, is that I have way more than enough Coins for it!
After counting through the Coins you collected in the final stage, the game then measures the coin value of every treasure you've collected. To save time and space, all 15 Treasure add up to 85,000 Coins!
If you collected all 15 Treasure, and have your grand total of Coins max out at 99,999, Wario should have a stack of 6 sacks of coins in his greasy palm.
Wario will then bring the sacks to the Genie... and the Genie decided that Wario deserved something EVEN GREATER THAN A CASTLE!
Wario suddenly floats into space... and finds out that he now own his own moon!
THIS IS THE PERFECT ENDING! *PLANET WARIO!!!*
----------
Thanks for watching my playthrough of Wario's first adventure. This will be the last we ever see of Mario in any capacity in the Wario Land series.
But before I move on to the next Game Boy game, I'm gonna go on a detour through Wario's first and only Virtual Boy adventure.
Stay tuned for that!
