Zakesta by Zakichi is one indie game that mimics Star Force, Aleste, Star Soldier and Blazing Lazers. Back then, the presentation and gameplay of Aleste and Star Soldier games were quite iconic. There are even other games that reference Star Soldier gameplay design such as the secret bonus, simultaneous enemy destruction bonus, bonus for taking out the mid-boss quickly before it assembles, tons of things on the ground to take out, etc.
