Sonic and the Black Knight is one of those Sonic games that doesn’t even sound real, but it did happen, with Knight of the Wind being its main theme. The lyrics are very basic, enough to be essentially irrelevant. The composition is what’s really great about Knight of the Wind. The bells add a sort of regal sound and the guitars keep churning out the power chords to maintain a rock edge. The song often uses the flattened 2nd of the Phrygian mode, which I always think of as an edgier version of the minor key. I love the way this track turned out.
