While it probably isn’t my favorite, if I had to name an objective “best” arrangement on this album, it would be this. It keeps up the energy, keeps things fresh, and is paced well. I’ll freely admit that the original version of Fist Bump is not great. The lyrics are painfully basic and the vocals feel outside the singer’s comfortable range. Thankfully, an instrumental version eliminates both of those problems and lets the incredible composition shine through. This song is a rollercoaster, and has one of my favorite moments on the album with that last key change. Fist Bump is in a minor key the whole time, going back and forth between C and E minor, but towards the very end, it goes from E minor to E major. This is the uplifting nature of a Picardy third on steroids, and it sounds glorious. This was the perfect song to end the album.
