Join @MysteriousJG and I as we confront the ultimate boss who's in possession of the ultimate weapon, in this very special last episode of The Space Adventure – Cobra: The Legendary Bandit. If you're looking for it, the next game JG and I are playing together it's a JRPG that's resently had a fan translation released: • Let's Play Super Shell Monsters Story...
Heads up, this is an early 90s Japanese menu based anime inspired game, there is going to be some dated and poorly aged stereotypes. We try to take it not too seriously because it's a product of it's time and it's a pretty over the top game not really meant to be taken seriously, but you're fairly warned out if that's not your bag and you want to duck out of this series.
Officially called "The Space Adventure – Cobra: The Legendary Bandit" it's a mouthful of a title for a game that came out for the SegaCD in 1991 in Japan but took 4 more years to get to North America. The Voice acting is bad and REALLY badly mixed. You're going to be saying what a lot and the darn game doesn't have text for voice acted lines even when they are smack in the middle of the paragraph. But strap in cuz this space adventure takes us to many different planets where Cobra gets up to shinanagans. There is a pretty interesting cast of characters in this game and having to avoid conflict with The Galaxy Patrol as well as Chrystal Boy and his Guild of Space Pirates (which has a 12 member board of directors) is going to keep things hopping. And I'm sure this fun romp though space never turns serious business ;)
Interestingly コブラII: 伝説の男, Kobura II: Densetsu no Otoko AKA Cobra 2: Legendary man is actually a sequel to a Japan only game titled Cobra: Kokuryuuou no Densetsu released for the PC Engine CD which came out only a couple years prior.
