0x80073712: Critical update files are missing or corrupt.
0x800F0922: Connection problems or corrupt download.
0x80070070: Not enough disk space.
0x80070020: Interference from other processes or programs.
0x80240034: Update service unavailable.
0x8024200D: Download interrupted.
0x8024402F: Connection problems.
0x800b0100: File verification problems.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:
Go to Settings Update & Security Troubleshoot.
Select "Windows Update" or "Backup" depending on the context.
Check your hard drive:
Open Command Prompt as administrator.
Run the command: chkdsk /f /r.
Repair system files:
Use the sfc /scannow command in Command Prompt to fix corrupt system files.
You can also run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
Free up disk space:
Make sure there is enough space on the disk to complete the operation.
Reset Windows Update components:
Use the following commands in Command Prompt:
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
