once upon a time, after i'd completed my tour of duty through all the iwads, i went out to look for my first real pwad to try. somehow, i stumbled into a post recommended alien vendetta as the first pwad you should try. this... was probably not a good choice. but i made it through, with lots of saving and bull-headed persistence. and now i'm back, hopefully somewhat better off, for revenge.

in any case, this first map leaves a pretty weak impression, if i'm being honest, although it does establish the aesthetics that are going to be in play for the first ten or so maps. really the thing that annoys me the most is having to press a different-colored torch to exit; it's really easy to miss and it's not really establishing anything that's going to be a major part of future maps.

and yeah, this probably goes without saying, but alien vendetta gets pretty hard; this is probably going to take a while but i'm determined to see it through.

oh and we're also using the midi pack. lot of good tracks on this one, and there's really only one track that i'm going to miss (map 8), so we might as well.
