This home weather station packs just about every feature of a weather station that you could ask for. The WS-2000 Wi-Fi OSPREY comes with everything you need to get started with tracking the weather in your own backyard. However, we purchased with our own money, the Lightning Detector to demonstrate what that looks like on the display and to explain how a lightning detector works (by tracking EMP pulses).

If you're a professional, novice, or anything in between, the Ambient Weather WS-2000 is one of the best home weather stations you can get for the money. It blows the competition out of the water with the quality you get. You can set custom alerts, the screen is bright and vibrant and expands icons as you add more add-ons to the device, the weather station feels very well built and does not feel cheap at all, and the value for money is very high with this unit which is fantastic.
You can track and monitor all types of weather with this WS-2000 unit. It features a wind vane, solar array, rain gauge, thermometer, hygrometer, UV Index readout, and so much more.

The Ambient Weather WS-2000 is a comprehensive local and remote monitoring package. The high-definition, full color TFT LCD display is easy to read, day or night, and includes a light and dark colored background.
The console receives wireless wind speed, direction, rainfall, temperature, humidity, UV and Solar Radiation from the outdoor sensor array. It can also receive barometric pressure, humidity and temperature from the optional indoor sensor (sold separately). The brilliant, dynamic color tablet combines measured parameters with calculated data, such as 'Feels Like' Temperature (Wind Chill and Heat Index), Dew Point, 10 Minute Wind Speed and Direction, Sunrise, Sunset, Moon Phase, Forecast, and more. The multi-screen display also includes NIST internet time server synchronization, imperial and metric units of measure, high and low alarm conditions with audible alert, calibration of all major parameters, and real-time internet weather publishing.
The wireless sensor array connects to the console via RF (915 MHz) up to 330 feet line of sight in open air (100 feet under most conditions). The wireless signal will not pass through solid metal, earth, or ground. The sensor array's primary power source is a solar panel which charges the super capacitor, with optional battery backup (batteries not included).
Data Transmission
The WiFi settings are entered directly into the display tablet using the interactive buttons, and encrypted WiFi transmission is supported.
The WS-2000 also displays minimum and maximum conditions with time and date stamp, historical archived data, which can be exported to SD Card (optional, not included) for advanced data analysis in Excel. The SD Card is also used for firmware updates.

The WS-2000 supports up to 8 thermo-hygrometers and 2 air quality sensors (1 indoor and 1 outdoor). It can also support our lightning detector, leak detector, and soil meter.
