I had the pleasure of filming a beautiful exhibition of old ploughing with some fabulous Landini Testa Calda tractors. We are in Bagnolo San Vito, near Mantua, Italy, and for some years this event takes place with other initiatives for the local town fest. Always fascinating is the start-up that occurs after heating the fuel using an incandescent surface located inside the head of the engine. We must say that they are single-cylinder tractors with a large external flywheel, built from the 30s to the 60s such as the Vèlite, the 44 Major, L35, L45 with powers usually from 30hp to 50hp. Extremely robust and reliable, they were among the most popular tractors of that period in Italy. The mechanics are so good that as you can see, they still work without problems.

Ho avuto il piacere di filmare una bella esibizione di aratura d'epoca con alcuni favolosi trattori Landini Testa Calda. Ci troviamo presso Bagnolo San Vito, in provincia di Mantova e da qualche anno si svolge questa manifestazione concomitante con altre iniziative per la sagra del paese. Sempre affascinante l'accensione che avviene dopo aver riscaldato il carburante per mezzo di una superficie incandescente posta all'interno della testata del motore. Va detto che sono trattori monocilindrici con un grosso volano esterno, costruiti dagli anni 30 agli anni 60 come appunto il Vèlite, il 44 Major, L35, L45 con potenze solitamente dai 30cv ai 50cv. Estremamente robusti ed affidabili, sono stati tra i trattori più popolari di quel periodo in Italia. Talmente buona la meccanica che come potete vedere funzionano ancora senza problemi.
