Not too far from Tarant lies a little village dedicated to the god Halcyon, the old god of truth. It's a pretty simple village, really only there to offer you a quest to restore the altar to Halcyon.

Is it worth doing? No idea! Never did the old god stuff in Arcanum, mostly due to length, it's a VERY long drawn out quest the involves you traveling all over the place but I have read that the reward is possibly worth it. We'll see, for now I am just happy with the loot and experience!

Arcanum is a bloody great RPG of the early 2000s, made by Troika Games! The same people who made Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines!

Arcanum takes all the elements from the classic Fallout games and takes it up to eleven with a lot of interesting new systems like craftings, class system, and their quite unique approach to Technology and Magic!

It's not a perfect game by any stretch, it's a bit rough in places and while the world is amazing it does kinda fall off towards the end sadly but I won't say anything else on that.

I hope you'll enjoy this playthrough, I have nothing but love for Arcanum and it's easily one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

Arcanum can be bought off either Steam or GoG for a decent price with GoGs being a little bit cheaper.

This playthrough is using the GoG version, far as I can tell there is little to no difference between the two although I do prefer the GoG one.

Keep in mind: While the VTM: Bloodlines on GoG usually has the unofficial patch on, the same is NOT applied to Arcanum. YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL THE UNOFFICIAL PATCH YOURSELF.

[Mods and Patches]
This playthrough is using the Unofficial patch and + HQ improvements by Terra Arcanum, and it has to be said it's bloody needed!

Troika games, while great, do need a lot of work afterwards in order to fix various problems and instabilities, Arcanum is no different sadly.

The link and list below are the mods I've used for this playthough, it's faffy and will be a pain to install but I assure you it makes the game a lot friendlier to play.

* I've set my games resolution at 1280x720, anything beyond always looks waaay too big and makes the text a bit tiny.

I did use a really detailed video for the instillation of the patch but sadly it's not there anymore :( There is a good one by the user "Obonsville" that gives a pretty good rundown of the installation.
