Are Leds And Lasers the same? well yes and no. leds and lasers have 2 main components to make up how they emit light and the way they emit light is by running voltage across 2 semiconductors.
now if both leds and semiconductors have 2 semiconductors how do they not produce light the same way, the answer is the intrinsic Region that sits between the 2 semiconductors for the laser diode. This is the differentiating factor between the 2 electronics in question.

21 Facts and information in the Video
Semiconductors -
1. semi conductors means it conductivity changes based on the environment.
2. thanks to the power of semi conductors electronics in computers and machines have been allowed to get smaller.
3. semi conductors change between insulators and conductors
4. what allows semi conductors to change from insulate to conduct are heat, light, electrical currents
5. transistors are another type of semi conductor found in computers
6. semi conductors have revolutionized the technological field
7. Einstein worked on semiconductors in the form of simulated emission (laser) and spontaneous emission (leds)
Leds -
1. light bulbs work by passing large amounts of current through a thin wire.
2. the transfer of energy is so much that the wire will glow from the heat.
3. only about 5% of the energy going into the bulb is turning into heat.
4. leds are just 2 semiconductors stuck together
5. electroluminescence occurs when you apply enough voltage across the 2 semi conductors
6. leds are 7 times more efficient at converting power into light as opposed to light bulbs.
Lasers -
1. lasers semiconductors come in the form of a diode
2. the diode has 3 sections the p section n section and a intrinsic layer in-between
3. when the particles come together in the intrinsic layer they come out as photons
4. the intrinsic section is polished to a mirror quality concentrating the photons
5. the photons are seen as light
6. the light or photons then leave parallel to the section.
7. lens are then added to focus the beam and change the shape of the beam.
8. laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

Definitions
1. Conductors - a substance or material that allows electricity to flow through it.
2. Insulators - a substance or device which does not readily conduct electricity.
3. Semiconductors - materials which have a conductivity between
conductors (generally metals) and nonconductors or insulators
4. Electroluminescence - Electroluminescence is an optical and electrical phenomenon,
in which a material emits light in response to the passage of an electric current.
5. Diode - a semiconductor device with two terminals,
typically allowing the flow of current in one direction only.
6. Intrinsic Region - acts like an inferior rectifier
7. Laser Lens - optical lenses that are used in laser-based devices for a
variety of laser applications such as but not limited to laser
illumination, laser collimator, laser scanning, laser
dimensioning, material processing, laser welding, laser cutting.
