The combat system in Arena of Evolution: Red Tides is relatively complex but not too difficult to learn. The battles are divided into two different phases: during the first one, you can choose the troops that you want to deploy and how you want to place them inside the battlefield. During the second phase, you get to watch the battles unfold against the enemy troops. Depending on the battle's results, you'll earn more or fewer coins which you can use to get new (and better) troops. After that, you'll start a new combat round.

In between battles, you can use your earnings to buy new heroes or upgrade your existing troops. Arena of Evolution: Red Tides includes more than 60 different troops, each one has its own features and special skills. A lot of these skills also allow you to create synergies with other troops so learning how to fight against them is truly vital to earn your victory.
