Raven barely had any time to rest after the battle with the Ice Worm and the shocking revelation of Ayre's true nature. It could make anyone question whether they were still sane. And hallucinations were not uncommon in humans with coral augmentations. But before he could even digest these thoughts, Walter came back with another job. Several missions prior, Walter had told Raven about the data his "friend" had retrieved from the Institute City, Xylem about something massive hidden beneath the first Watchpoint ever built, Watchpoint Alpha. Turns out the Ice Worm was protecting the entrance to Watchpoint Alpha, to keep whatever was hidden out of reach to anyone. The location was much deeper than the areas that were already mapped. It was completely unknown territory. And so this next job had Raven take up the request from Arquebus to start a solo exploration and survey mission. Balam had a head start and were already exploring the depths below the old facility, and so Arquebus was more than happy to have an independent mercenary take all the risks going ahead of them. But even just falling down the long elevator shaft of the Watchpoint was a big challenge. For though the PCA was no longer on Rubicon 3, there were several automated PCA defenses in the Watchpoints. Including the massive NEPENTHES weapons energy weapons platform.
