4In which I play "Planetary Defense", published by ANALOG Computing in 1984, and written by the amazing Tom Hudson and Charles Bachand. Mr. Hudson wrote one of my all-time favourite Atari games, which I still play regularly to this day, Buried Bucks.
This game is a nicely crafted shooter in which you defend your planet from incoming missiles/bombs and the occasional flying saucer. You can damage the planet yourself if you are not careful with shots from your orbiting defense platform.
I found myself enjoying this one rather a lot, so you should definitely give it a play!
