Avram Iancu, an athlete from Petroșani, achieved a historic feat: he swam across Europe, from the sources of the Rhine to the Black Sea, over a distance of 4,448 km, without a wetsuit!
The water was even 16°C, but our Romanian braved the cold, the currents and the fatigue, to carry the tricolor across the continents. In 2016, he crossed the English Channel, and now he has written history in endurance sports.
An example of courage, perseverance and national pride.
