I'm unsure what exactly is different about No Shell vs Obsidian Shell as they both appear to function the same. But I decided to do a run without using a shell at all and seeing what it was like. To be honest, it actually felt easier than my first playthrough due to how much stamina you have and seemingly never run out. Coupled with your weapon skill building up much faster than before, it makes most fights a breeze. After a quick look at some Obsidian videos, it also appears to be the exact same in regards to stamina, weapon skill and boss abilities.
I think it took around 2-3 hours to get this all done, most of the time wasted running between bosses and awkward enemies to dodge (looking at you Crucix area, and Tarsus back to Falgrim with the gland). All of the bosses were done in 2-3 attempts. Obviously this isn't a full no hit run or I would've had the whole run in, it's boss fights only. I left all the cinematics in for each boss. It makes the video a little longer and slower at parts, but it's mainly for those who want to see those.
I might do an Obsidian Shell run too, but I feel like it'll be the same as this anyway. And there's no achievements appearing on PC currently. Otherwise I have one small guide to put together on "Where To Go", basically showing where to go from Falgrim to the 3 main areas as it can get a little confusing. Outside of that I've had a lot of fun with the game, was definitely worth the money. Next on the to play list is Remnant: From The Ashes! I'll also have some more Destiny videos up over the weekend. Mini-failtage from the GM this week, a Solo Master on Warlock, and a Solo All 5 EP Bosses compilation.
Newly released Soulsborne like game that I wanted to make a few videos for after seeing the beta videos. I only discovered this after the beta and thus missed the early review pass unfortunately, but it's still something fun to do on the side. This is my very first time playing it all, so obviously I won't be great or used to the combat system either. I'll still be making Destiny content as always, but over the coming months until Beyond Light I'll be also uploading videos from other games alongside Destiny to fill the huge content gap.
Mortal Shell is a deep action-RPG from developer Cold Symmetry that tests your sanity and resilience in a shattered world. Your adversaries spare no mercy, with survival demanding superior awareness, precision, and instincts. Possess lost warriors, track down hidden sanctums of the devout, and face formidable foes.
My PC setup is nothing too crazy at all, but the specs are:
i7-8700, GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4-3000 Ram, 256GB SSD, 2TB HDD.
Allows me to run max settings at constant 60FPS while recording. Which is about all I need for now :)
