...Yeah, yeah "Happy April Fools' Day" yada-yada. I know its very silly and not as pro as other april fools video , but eh.
I had this idea around 3 weeks ago and originally I wanted to animate the first...30 minutes...yeah something like that.
After a few days I realized it's impossible to finish it in time so I decided to make just the part you can see in the video.
Honestly? I think I wasted way too much time on this than I should have, but screw it! I like the result! xP
NOW, my thoughts about the "face reveal"
No. I'm sorry, but I'm not planning to show my face in the near future.
My look has nothing to do with my work. The only reason I have this current "skill" and "talent" because I've been drawing in my whole life.
I know you're curious and everything, but I feel like, for me, showing my face would cause way more trouble than anything good. You can hear many stories from other youtubers about how they have stalkers, people find their home, phone number yada-yada, and I don't need these. I want to have a peaceful life, being able to go outside and be with my family and friends without looking behind my back in every 5 minutes, being paranoid and feel like I'm being watched.
The other reason I don't show my face is because I want to avoid that type of audience who would only watch my videos cause of how I look(?)
(I'm sure it can happen with boys too, but since I'm a girl, I'm gonna tell this part from my perspective.) I don't remember whose video I watched, but in the comments I saw something like: "I don't care what she do. The only reason I subbed cuz she's hot!".
If I got comments like that I would definietly lose the motivation to make videos. Before you'd say "wow how egoist, thinking everyone would fall for ya once you show yourself" No...it's...kinda the opposite. Honestly, I wouldn't care if you found me pretty or ugly, whatever. We have different taste and that's why "beauty" exist in many colors and shapes...Sorry, carried away. In short, whatever your opinion would be, I'm cool with it.
THE PART that upsets me is that, the thought to have people watching my videos, not because they love what I do, but because they like my appearance.
Just think about sacrificing weeks,months of time and energy to create something unique, something you love, something that noone ever could make only you, and when you show it to the world, what you get is : ...Whatever. u look hot tho! ...I don't need this. I have zero interest in comments telling me how I look like, even if you just wanna be nice and not..."trying to make me like you(?)". ...Also I have a mirror. That's enough...*cries*
Some of you probably won't believe this, but I don't have interest in fame either. ...Well as a youtuber, maybe I should care about it a little bit but... nah. I hate too much attention. Being in the spotlight just freaks me out. BUT, if I get recognized, then I want to get recognized for my WORK. For what I do and not for something I didn't work for just...have. I love drawing and animating and if you also like these things I do then... it makes me happy. You know how quiet I'm and ...I'm not good with words either so I don't praise you/say thank you and all these like other youtubers do..but... Whenever I drop a 'Thank you', all those positive things/vibe/etc. the other youtubers usually say is behind that thank you.
Of course, it can change anytime, but right now I'd like to keep my youtube stuff and my personal life as separated as possible. Sorry again, but... no face reveal. ...Not now. And please stop asking me over and over to do it. (If you see comments like that just send this video to them. :p)
If you were too lazy to read the whole novel, then in short... I prefer honest critique about my work to empty compliments about my appearance. Opinions about my art can help me improve and become better at it. Opinions about my look can't.
