Brutal Doom Redemption and Starter Pack beta, Levels 1-7
I've found a very nice thing in my archives, almost one year ago Sgt.Mark IV gave to us a first closed beta of Starter Pack to test, as you will see there are a lot of differences. First of, I'm also using the Brutal Doom Redemption 3.0 which is available in the links below.
What are the changes opposite to the final version? There is no custom music and the textures are from Freedoom with some of the custom ones missing.
- The Hangar is completely different and it is basically a E1M1 from FreeDoom Phase 1.
- Nukage Processing is almost the same level except textures, lack of Imps near the blue key and some other small changes.
- Water Treatment, small changes like Minigunner ambush and missing Demon ambush near the red keycard. There is also an unfinished portion of map with an alternate exit.
- Communications Center, various changes like redone kitchen. There is also a Pain Elemental here.
- Map number 5, completely different level with unreachable exit. AFAIK the map has been quickly scrapped.
- Marine HQ, several changes like textures, lack of few rooms and halls, no office at the end together with a puzzle to solve.
- No Nuclear Plant map after the Marine HQ
- Staging Grounds is bugged, sometimes the Arachnotrons entry to the map may not be triggered
