Building Sound Design for Video Games | Full Sail University
Relationships in the game industry are ever-evolving as making video games means changing teams. The sound design aspect of games is no different. Ultimately, the goal is to have strong audio directors so communication between all disciplines - dialogue, sound effects, and music - run efficiently. Collaboration between teams is important throughout the production of the game. A game such as Uncharted, where the cutscenes are done by a post facility, has to be in constant communication with all of the different collaborators for in-game sound effects, foley, music, audio mixing, and other elements. Whether you’re part of a game involving two people or two hundred people, you’re part of a collaborative entity that needs to take feedback into consideration.
