Well I've finally reached the end of this Richter Belmont mode thankfully without dying. Although I hope you mortals learned much in this retro game series on how to survive the Richter Belmont mode for yourself.

But with it being the end of the game.... That means that once again it's time for the retro game series finale!!

I literally have the end boss and ending and credits left to go and then my dual Castlevania Symphony Of The Night PlayStation 1 journey will be completed at last.

So I'm going to get right into it.... right now.

In this episode, I take on the final boss and get the ending and the credits roll with that beautiful song " I Am The Wind " .

Note: For those wondering... there is NOT a final boss battle in this mode with Count Dracula for Richter. I know that traditionally in most retro Castlevania games, that a Belmont always takes on Count Dracula at the end of the game. It does make sense though because that's the purpose of that Belmont Clan.

However for whatever reason, Konami decided to omit a final battle between Richter Belmont and Count Dracula in this game. Personally I would have loved the opportunity to challenge myself by taking on that insane looking Count Dracula final form that Alucard took on. That would very hard indeed.

To make matters more interesting, Shaft the dark priest is Richter's final boss. They didn't even think to put any kind of dialogue between Richter and Shaft. You literally drop into the pit room and you fight Shaft and that's it.

Even the ending is very empty. Sure you get the FMV of the castle being disintegrated. But there's no dialogue, not even a monologue. All Richter does is stand there posing in traditional Castlevania fashion during the ending.

Thankfully at least, we get the same great ending song during the credits as Alucard gets in his game.

I understand that there are storage limitations in the CD-ROM. But I don't think adding a few little details like I just mentioned would have really made a difference in the storage space on the CD-ROM.

If need be, they could have made this game two discs instead of one just like Capcom did with Resident Evil 2. One disc could have been Alucard's disc and the second disc could have been Richter Belmont's disc.

Then you would have had plenty of room to add in stuff like that and also add in the extra content that was only available in the Japanese Sega Saturn version of this game, including new enemies, new bosses and two new areas if I'm not mistaken and even a playable Maria Renard mode amongst the many differences between the Japanese Sega Saturn port and the English PlayStation 1 port.

Luckily, in a much later port on PlayStation 4 that is called Castlevania Requiem, Maria Renard mode is finally available. The only trade off is in the new PlayStation 4 port, the voice actors/actresses are different and they altered the dialogue a bit. I have nothing against it personally because it is retro Castlevania and it is symphony of the night but it's not the same for me.

The original 1997 PlayStation 1 version will ALWAYS be the # 1 version for me. But feel free to try the PlayStation 4 version for yourself and decide for yourself which version is better.

But it is what it is. I do understand that this game is primarily Alucard's story but I definitely think that they did Richter Belmont wrong with the way that they watered down his mode compared to other retro Castlevania games treated their Belmont protagonists.

Anyway, before you mortals become very confused and send me the same comments in the comments section, I figured I would give you some closure through an explanation as to the situation of this game and this video so that you will hopefully not get confused and you will understand. If you have any gripes about there not being any of the stuff that I just mentioned.... take it up with Konami 🤷.

But moving on, I hope that you have enjoyed this Retro Game series. If you have then please leave me a 👍 before you go. It is free and it does help the channel more than you know. If you would like to leave a comment to show your support then I would appreciate that as well. If you know anybody that is into retro games then feel free to share my content with them.

Make sure to subscribe to me because I have more retro content coming soon.

I also have over 2.6K videos on my channel and many organized playlists to choose from so feel free to look over my channel and maybe you'll see something that you're interested in.

Maybe it's a game that you like and you haven't seen in a while or maybe it's something you've never heard of and you'll learn about a new retro game and want to try it for yourself.

But my time has come to an end for now. I do have other things to do according to Whis so I must take my leave at this point.

However do not fret because I will be back very soon with some new retro content.

I'll see you in the next video. Bye for now from Universe 7 👋.
