Bought a used Chihiro type 3 which initially lost video completely after booting to Chihiro screen.
Then after fiddling with AVIP cable it came back to life albeit with a purple screen! Finally got it running long enough to load game, then got message 'Game not acceptable by mainboard'. Ran media board best and found DIMM0 bad. Cleaned and reinstalled memory in slot 0 and rebooted successfully into game.

Attract seems to run ok, but you soon start to see wavy lines through upper and lower parts of screen in bands - kind of flickering. Hard to capture on camera but you can see the issue affecting the very edge of the screen the worst quite clearly.

Might be dodgy AVIP cable connectors as touching the cable only lightly results in colour and sound distortion. I've cleaned connectors with contact cleaner but it hasn't completely cured the issue.

Filter boards are quite rusty so this unit hasn't been well looked after. Not very happy.. :I
