You start with all weapons and no self-damage. That enables you to learn to use the weapons to accelerate your self incredibly fast. Unless it a small crowded corridor maybe try something else lol.

I just go over some basic things about movement in Quake. I am not a pro but I understand how the engine works. If you really want to learn how to play better this video might help you. My microphone settings aren't where I want them to be yet but I managed to get the levels adjusted OK in this video.

One way to look at your skill level is like this.

tier 1 - rocket jump techniques
tier 2 - plasma jump techs
tier 3 - grenade jump are out unless your keel so lets put gauntlet here
tier 4 - rail gun
tier 5 - movement skills etc...

Basically, once you know how the weapons will work you can apply how your movement vs your opponents movement could work. This new Quake Champions engine does unexpected things most of which make more sense anyway.
