If you haven’t seen it yet, you really need to check out Beyond the Wire. It’s being developed by a new indie dev Redstone Interactive and published by Offworld Industries on their Squadcore framework. Unlike what you might expect, however, this game is nothing like a Squad reskin. What Beyond the Wire actually is is a 50 v 50 World War 1 tactical shooter with a firm focus on entrenchment, short range claustrophobic engagements, melee combat, and human wave attacks. While it's beautiful like all Squadcore games, it manages to really stand out from the others in terms of intensity and gameplay. No tedious hour long super-FOB emplacement and boring logi runs here; only headlong charges screaming VIVE LA FRANCE hoping to show some poor bastard the wrong end of your bayonet.

In our first Beyond the Wire video, I’m going to show off the Commander gameplay on Frise Frontlines. This game was a back and forth battle with times both disastrous and triumphant, and I’d like to think my constant use of gas, smoke, and explosive artillery helped to clear the way for my faithful allied sections as they repeatedly attacked and counterattacked the Germans. All the way, my faithful signaleer Talon kept me protected and with a radio, even in the thick of it.
