For those unaware, once completing the game, gameplay just restarts.

I remember when this game was new in the arcade! There were three arcades I would get to visit, mainly due to their proximity to other stores my parents frequented, and this cabinet showed up right near the actual release, slotted in right between other games. About a month or two later, the cabinet was moved to an area that had open wall space, and a Commando movie poster appeared, even though, as far as I am ware, they had nothing to do with each other. The arcade game was release about May 1985, while the movie came out in October 1985. Really trying to squeeze out that last quarter!

The Atari ST port of the game was released in 1989. I think this was a very solid effort. I am not a fan of holding the joystick button for using grenades, so timing becomes important. I might have used the space bar, which I believe some other ports to other systems of this game did.

The art is good, the music is decent, and so are the sound effects. One gripe I would have with sound is the effects level is too loud, and does drown out the music.

The music heard in the intro, and at the end, are Commodore 64 SID tunes from that port of Commando, awesome compositions!
