Conker: Live & Reloaded - Rock Solid
Conker: Live & Reloaded is a third-person action-platformer developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox. It was originally released in North America on June 21, 2005, and in Japan on June 30, 2005.
Conker: Live & Reloaded is a remake of the critically acclaimed Nintendo 64 game, Conker's Bad Fur Day, with enhanced graphics, updated controls, and an expanded multiplayer mode. The game follows the misadventures of Conker the squirrel as he navigates a series of bizarre and comical situations in a mature and irreverent world.
Development on the title started shortly after Microsoft bought Rare. The game was originally titled Conker: Live and Uncut and was to feature a completely uncensored single-player experience. At some point during the development, this was changed and the game was censored in various ways. Including the obscenities that were present in the original N64 version were removed or bleeped out.
This drew criticism from fans of the original, especially as it detracted from comedic highlights such as the "Great Mighty Poo" song in the Sloprano chapter. This song was also censored on the soundtrack, although Rare once had the uncensored Xbox version of the song on their website.
If anyone reads these summaries comment "What is it, the testing department's day off or something?" a quote from Conker himself.
The game was composed by Robin Beanland, who is best known for his work on various Rare titles, including Donkey Kong Country, and Sea of Thieves.
