Just some rough sketches for gaining height. This video was unlisted at first, but I figured it doesn't hurt to share it.

Something tells me big jumps won't be super useful in this game speedrun-wise. Infinite jumping with the help of enemies is practically a normal feature in later DMC-games, so my guess is that the devs are already prepared for any kind of jumps we can pull off.

0:00 - use Punch Line air attack and recall near a wall while air taunting repeatedly. It looks like an infinite jump at first, but you do eventually lose too much air momentum from doing this that you fall down.

0:20 - ride on Punch Line near a wall. Jump off, recall, repeat. Only works after you've purchased Air Hike? Not sure how infinite this is, but a single Punch Line does run out of fuel eventually and explodes.

0:50 - you can interrupt air taunt with L1. This spends a Devil Breaker at the expense of gaining height quickly.
