I've said it before and I'll say it again: DmC never stops amazing me.

This entire video is dedicated to the particularly juicy results of what happened at the Mission 2 Blue Rose-room post-fight cutscene. You will get to see Dante's entire being completely glitched as well as the return of the permanent slo-mo glitch.

First, I glitch the cutscene by Gliding into it at the same time I get a new checkpoint. Now if I retry, the cutscene starts anew but this time with Dante free to move and do as he pleases.

Watching the family portrait float on its own is already vaguely amusing, but it gets so much worse if you Glide out of the corridors and leave the map while the cutscene is going on. First the cutscene ends (and I pick up a strange checkpoint on the way as well). Returning back to the map, the cutscene continues. Eventually, the pre-rendered part will start, although the HUD graphics and the Glide sound loop lessen its dramatic impact. Afterwards... Dante is still Gliding, albeit in the portrait holding cutscene pose, and his movement is oddly blocky and slow. What should this be called... the Studious Dante-pose?

Dante's state is pretty much entirely glitched at the moment. I Glided for some time and managed to find back to the main level to examine this glitchy state a little closer. First of all, Dante's graphics are displaced from his actual position. He doesn't move while running or doing ground attacks - only jumping and air attacks move him. Turning moves the displaced graphics around Dante in a circular formation. Handguns do not have any sounds or visual effects... I spent some time just doing different attacks and observing the reactions to them here. Interesting to note how some attack effects leave from Dante's graphics and some from his physical location. Also, Osiris literally grows and shrinks as you do attacks with it.

Finally, running out of ideas, I dumped Dante into the chasm to see what would happen. First, Dante's handguns suddenly explode for no reason right as the fade-out begins (are these the gun effects that didn't show earlier?). After losing all his lives, he didn't get a game over but instead respawned somewhere else, and the game was now in permanent slo-mo! I just don't know what to think about this.

Reloading the checkpoint, I ended up at the start of the level again. Yes, the first map that you never revisit after leaving it. The game still remembered all my progress through the level, so the Sparda-room was blocked off and so was the bedroom. I was basically stuck in there for good.

I'm speculating that the Blue Rose is actually a sort of hallucinogenic because all this strange stuff happens whenever Dante gets near them...
