★ Welcome in Wanderer!
Here we tackle the Hard Time Attack Challenges for the trophy "Speed King" in order to receive the Time Attack Items.
The thirteenth and another one of mine and Neko's favorite Colossi, it's our buddy, the pacifist Snake [Phalanx] and the tactic is to hit its air sacs the moment you get control of Wander. If done right, you can almost always manage to get 2 of its air sacs right there, before even needing to mount Agro to chase after it.
Once on him, the best tactic is to stab the first (nearest to the head) sigil at least half of its lifespan, but not completely destroy it. Then run towards the last (near the tail end) sigil and destroy that one. The reason I've found on my numerous playthroughs is that this is the full proof way to save time. Once you're on it the second time around. Stab the first sigil and then go for the second (middle of the body) sigil. If done properly, you can get the first and the second sigil before it closes up the sigil with it's hoods cutting down your time significantly whereas normally you'd have to climb it for the third time trying to hit the third sigil.
One tactic is to jump and let the wind pressure push you closer to the second sigil which is why I always find hitting the second sigil is the best option as the last hit. Basically you need to climb Phalanx only twice following this tactic.
Best of luck, Warriors of Dormin!

★ Personal Thoughts:
I remember how I stumbled upon the idea of hitting it's 2nd sigil as the last one and it immediately changed my gameplay experience and struggles with Phalanx entirely. Since then this one no more a drag but rather one of the most enjoyable Colossi fights ever.
How regal is this pacifist Colossi, really! The design, the atmosphere, the sand dunes, and the scorching sun - everything makes this fight a memorable one for me. The design baffled me when I realized Phalanx had 2 eyes on the left side of its face but only 1 eye on the right side. Literally incredible design, this one.
Ultimately that's what makes this fight sad as it doesn't even harm us legit. It's just a matter of time before we finish it and it doesn't even attack. Just wanted to be left alone up there... Can't blame it, we would too if it was that hot down there, no?
