As a kid who grew up during what I consider to be the most innovative era in gaming, I'm proud to say that I still love Doom. I first laid hands on the DOS version a little over 20 years ago at the tender age of 9. Even then, I'd already been exposed to Wolf3D, but this was on a totally different level. Literally, since this was a step away from Wolf's static level design. When my family got our first PC in 1996, one of the discs that came with it was full of game trials and one of them was the Doom95 shareware. After this, one of the things that would always be stuck with me was the installer you got with the Spider Mastermind staring back at you while this track played.

To me, this tune symbolizes Doom more than any other and I've heard many remixes of it. But Andrew's in particular I just find haunting. The "sinister" laugh in the middle adds it's own special flair as well. The first time I heard it while playing Brutal Doom, I actually paused for a second because I wasn't sure if it was the track or some new foe. Anyone who's had to navigate the Halls of the Damned knows that it's spooky enough already with it's dark and narrow corridors.

Anyway I saw some poor SOB wishing for a 1 hour version, so I put one together because...well shit, why the hell not? I think it needs one, too. Enjoy.
