Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers - The Girl Who Announces the Dawn | Part 2
The hell kind of title is that...? Anyways...
We’re still going to the tutorial here, so all our movements are preset until the end. Here, the game shows us more about how long range units work.
There are very few long range units in the game, but Lei Bin is around for pretty much 95% of the game, so we’ll always have access to some form of long range attack. Longe range units don’t give a damn about the map placement nor defending units. Their best use is to take down Shield type enemies, as those types normally gain a massive defense boost from frontal attacks. There will be times you can ONLY attack Shield units from the front, so a bow user comes in handy in those instances.
Lei Bin has access to two single target attacks and two group attacks, allowing him to effectively concentrate fire on a particular enemy or weaken the whole crowd. Once he’s stronger, he can outright clear them all out. He’s also really good at building Synchro.
I’ll go over the different types of units in this game.
Attack - The sword symbol units. These guys have high attack by default without suffering any major drawbacks. They deal more damage as their health lowers so they can get really powerful, if a bit risky.
Defense - The shield symbol units. These guys take significantly reduced damage from the front, but usually have the lowest movement and weakest attack next to long range fighters.
Technique - The target symbol units. These guys deal increase damage when attacking from the sides or the rear of enemies and have a higher accuracy. Zhao Yun falls under this category.
Speed - The boot symbol units. These guys generally have the highest movement and are not halted by enemy formations, allowing them to more easily get behind enemies and move ahead of the ground. They take increased damage from behind and have the lowest defenses. Lei Bin is under this category.
Spirit - The sphere symbol units. These guys are the rarest units in the game, with mostly strategist occupying this class. They gain more benefits from the Spirit, but suffer more when it isn’t high. This means they underperform when morale is low, but overperform when it’s high. They also recover about 25% of their max HP per turn.
Some of that might be a bit confusing if you haven’t caught on to all the game mechanics just yet, but I’ll explain them more in the next video.
