Today StevieB is looking at the problem of getting loot back to your home planet. We all end up with this issue at some point. Loot has real world, real cash, value. So do we fly through space and take a chance on someone stealing our money?
Do we use a warp service? How do we decide what we should do?
Today we want to look at the question from a bit of a different position. Most people who play Entropia Universe try and save money every way they can. But sometimes being cheap can cost you big time.
First we need to stop and remember that we have fixed costs in the form of Thruster Decay and Oil Consumption. That means that the price of a warp is actually slightly less than we think as part of that price is a fixed cost.
Next we need to consider the amount of time it would take us to fly through space. Depending on the destination and vehicle you use you are looking at a 20 - 60 minute flight.
Last we need to consider the TT value and mark up of the loot we will be taking. Is it miniscule and we really wouldn't notice if it was lost? Or would losing a load of loot this size really cause an issue with our game play and how much we enjoy EU?
It's pretty easy to find a warp service for 10 - 15 PED. That's only $1.00-$1.50! That is an extremely low price to pay to save an hour of your time, have peace of mind and not have to stress or worry.
We focus so much on saving every PEC we can that sometimes we end up doing ourselves a massive disservice. Entropia Universe is a real cash economy mmorpg that should be enjoyable and fun to play.
If smuggling loot with real cash value through PvP lootable space is stressful and less enjoyable then it's likely you're better off paying a few PED and using a reputable Warp service!
