I have been a proponent of exploding damage dice in Dungeons and Dragons and other roleplaying games. People have asked me how I would do critical damage in RPGs if I were designing a system. It is possible that I would move critical damage away from the attack roll and toward the damage roll. this is my current thinking on the matter.
