Facebook Portal Plus: First Look
30The Facebook Portal Plus allows smart video calling on a 15.6-inch screen and has Alexa built‑in. Portal’s 12.5MP Smart Camera that has a 140° Field of View uses AI to keep everyone in the frame — panning and zooming automatically no matter where the conversation goes. The Portal plus features a 4-Mic array and for speakers you have an array of 2” tweeters and a 4” woofer for deep bass. The Portal + can make video calls with Facebook Messenger and also WhatsApp and comes with Alexa built-in. The really cool thing about the Portal+ is that like your smartphone, you can rotate it on the stand to portrait or landscape depending on which of these you want. For privacy and security both mic and camera have a disable button and there is a separate cover for the camera. The portal+ works on both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wifi bands and in the box you get the Portal+, a power cord, camera cover and a quick starter guide. The Portal+ comes in two colour variants, white and black and costs $279 in the US which when directly converted into Indian Rupees is around ₹20,000.
