Description:
The SSS temporarily split up to help various organizations with restoring order in Crossbell. However, the previous incident means Erebonia and Calvard are now a lot more hasty in their efforts to take over Crossbell. This, combined with Ouroboros's increasing activity in the region, is going to require even greater damage control efforts from the SSS.

In the Old Mine, the party steps inside, but end up trapped because someone rigged the entrance with explosives. Instead of waiting for help, the party decides to head deeper into the cave. At the end, they find some strange plants (pleroma grass?), but then a dragon attacks them and somehow binds them with its mysterious powers. Randy and Zeit bail us out and the boss battle begins.

This battle pulls a Cold Steel on us and forces Randy to replace Wazy, all without giving us a chance to equip Randy first. Unlike Cold Steel, you can't switch out party members mid-battle, so you're stuck with a suboptimally built Randy. Unlike me, have poison and seal resistance on everyone.
The boss has an S-Craft like skill that hits everyone on the field for high damage, but it can be reflected by A-Reflex. Its poison breath attack can also be reflected, and reflected damage is going to do a lot more than your regular attacks at this point in the game. Unfortunately, due to the early game limitations, you'll probably only be able to put A-Reflex on only one person. You'll have to stack STR and SPD debuffs on the boss to compensate for this. Chaos Brand can also do good damage, but it's slightly more expensive than other basic arts.
After the battle, the party is unable to find the culprits, but then we learn a lot about the red-haired giant, the red-haired girl, and how they run the Red Constellation. Randy was once part of that Jaeger group, and it seems they're the ones who set the explosives in order to "test" us. Worse yet, using the umbrella company Crimson and Co, the Red Constellation bought the old Revache building. When speaking to the Red leaders, Sigmund and Shirley Orlando, we learn that Randy's father died in battle against the Jaeger King of Zephyr.
