Share We've played Fallout 4 VR and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, Bethesda's bets for virtual reality
In the E3 edition of this year one of the companies that made one of the conferences that left us with a better taste was Bethesda. In it we witnessed the announcement of numerous video games that we will end up seeing in stores during the next weeks or months.
This week we travel to London to try out most of these titles, about which we will be talking little by little throughout these days, among those who were to try some dedicated to virtual reality, as is the case of 'Fallout 4 VR 'or' The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR '. In both cases they were just demonstrations to see how these versions will look, but enough to give us an idea in view of its release.
Fallout 4 VR, a trip not very pleasant in the Wasteland. Our first session of face with the virtual reality of Bethesda was with this version of 'Fallout 4' in which we used the glasses and controls of HTC Vive, which in my case was the first time I used them, having located the pipboy in our left hand and on the right the weapons to be used, being able to select the one we wanted at any time and with very quick changes between them.
In the case of weapons it was of course what we had the most interaction, since to use a fire one had to aim with the command and shoot, while with the melee, like baseball bats, you had to shake the arm to hit, but yes, always taking care not to have anything around us to avoid stoking someone really.
The demo happened at the beginning of the game in the Wasteland with a few enemies that we had to face. I do not know if the demo was prepared so that we could not die, but the truth is that I received sticks everywhere and the one that suffered the most was Dogmeat. More than anything because you can not imagine how difficult it is to know how to locate when you can not turn the camera in any way to attack what you have around you.
After several minutes I managed to get control system, but the truth is that the melee weapons did not respond too well because sometimes hit the enemies, others passed them and nothing happened to them or others died a little away from me character. At the end of the demo I expected a tough battle against the bloodthirsty, but luckily there was a power armor waiting for me before this hard confrontation and with which it became more bearable.
The truth is that the experience was very immersive and I felt like one more in the Wasteland, with a graphic aspect quite well achieved and that had nothing to envy to the version for consoles and PC. However, the fact of having to move with the stick while our real body remains motionless caused us more than one dizziness that took us to recover a good time once the demo ended. Hopefully in the final version improve sensations.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, another great version more up to the others. In the case of 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR', this version of the award-winning Bethesda title that will adapt to the virtual reality of PlayStation 4 with its PlayStation VR, we must recognize that the experience was clearly superior in every way. In this case the demo was located at an advanced point of the adventure that basically served to test the control system.
When will they arrive?
Those who are waiting for 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR' will be the first to welcome the virtual reality of Bethesda because in just under two months they can get it as soon as it is released on November 17 exclusively. , at least for now, for PlayStation 4. Instead, the release of 'Fallout 4 VR' will take place a few weeks later and will arrive on December 12 for HTC Vive, so before the end of the year we will enjoy both games again with a new experience. Unfortunately, although it seems that we have forgotten about him, we know that Bethesda is also at work with the development of 'DOOM VFR'
