Jin Sakai arrives at a survivor camp in search of Sensei Ishikawa, who has relentlessly pursued his former student, Tomoe. However, Ishikawa is nowhere to be found. Seeking answers, Jin interrogates a peasant who reveals that Ishikawa had ventured towards the coast. Determined to locate his comrade, Jin heads east and soon discovers Ishikawa cornered by a group of Mongol archers. Swiftly dispatching the attackers, Jin rushes to Ishikawa's side, expressing surprise at his vulnerability. Jin attributes this lapse to Ishikawa's overwhelming obsession with finding Tomoe.
Together, Jin and Ishikawa mount their horses, embarking on a journey towards Tomoe's last known location—an archer training camp. Along the way, Ishikawa unveils the reason behind Tomoe's betrayal, divulging that she had shared his teachings with a band of assassins. In response, Ishikawa had once attempted to kill her, despite their previous student-teacher relationship. Jin's curiosity is piqued, as he struggles to believe that Tomoe could have become a cold-blooded killer so easily. Ishikawa agrees, acknowledging that Tomoe harbored a natural inclination towards violence. As they ride, they encounter the aftermath of Tomoe's deadly efficiency, stumbling upon the corpses of her victims used for target practice by her and the Mongol archers. Fueled by their determination to end Tomoe's treachery, Jin and Ishikawa arrive at the archer training camp, only to find Tomoe's absence.
Undeterred, Jin and Ishikawa eliminate the enemy forces within the camp and commence a thorough search for clues about Tomoe's whereabouts. Amidst their investigation, Jin discovers a document outlining Tomoe's plans to establish three more training camps in Otsuna, Kushi, and an undisclosed location. Additionally, Jin uncovers a letter penned by Tomoe, pledging her loyalty to Khotun Khan and vowing to deliver Jin's and Ishikawa's heads to the Mongol leader. Grasping the true extent of the danger Tomoe poses to Tsushima, Jin and Ishikawa forge plans to track down and neutralize the remaining camps, questioning Ishikawa's ability to confront his former student when the decisive moment arrives. Nonetheless, Ishikawa steadfastly asserts his resolve to be the one to kill Tomoe, burdened by the guilt of teaching her.
