Gran Turismo Sport: Porsche 911 GT3 (996) | Test Drive & Review | Kaz's Favorite Car
Another big update for GT Sport. Along with bringing back the Mecca of Super GT, Fuji Speedway, but they've brought along 9 new cars for us to have fun with. Today's car is quite the unique one: the 2001 Porsche 911 GT3 (996), which so happens to be Kazunori Yamauchi's favorite car. Truth be told, this isn't the first time we've seen the 996 GT3 in Gran Turismo. Back in 2001, Gran Turismo 3 actually featured 911 GT3, however at that time, EA had bought exclusive rights to Porsche, so they were forced to scrap it and replace it with the Ruf RGT of that time period. Now that Porsche are fair game, we can once again see why Kaz loves this classic 911 so much.
Handling: Low slung, lightweight, and agile, the GT3 is possibly the grippiest and smoothest car from the early new millennia I've ever driven. There are tiny hints of oversteer, but the car remains planted and composed through the corners. It feels like a proper grippy driver's car this. No wonder Kaz loves it.
